Boards and Commissions

Merced's advisory boards and commissions provide many opportunities for residents to become involved in the City. The various boards and commissions make recommendations to the City Council.

Application for Appointment to a City Board or Commission


NOTICE OF VACANCIES

The City of Merced is accepting applications from persons who are registered to vote in the City of Merced for positions on the following boards and commissions: (*Open to County Residents.)


11-18-14: MEASURE C-CITIZENS OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE - (4) Vacancies
The Committee meets quarterly to review the projected revenues created by the voter approved Measure C, a one-half cent Sales Tax and recommends proposed expenditures to City Council. 

Current vacancies are:
1 South District Vacancy
1 North District Vacancies

11-18-14: PLANNING COMMISSION- (1) Vacancy
The Commission holds public hearings to periodically update the City’s General Plan and to review applications for discretionary development within the City, including recommendations for projects requiring final City Council action.

11-18-14: RECREATION & PARKS COMMITTEE- (1) Vacancy
The Committee acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to recreation and parks, considers the annual budget for recreation and parks during the process of its preparation and makes recommendations with respect thereto to the City Manager and to the City Council, and assists in the planning of a recreation program for the citizens of Merced.

11-18-14: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE - (1) Vacancy
The Committee is advisory to the City Council and staff on business and industrial development policies and programs.
