Authority: Section 711 of the Charter of the City of Merced
The Recreation & Parks Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to recreation and parks, considers the annual budget for recreation and parks during the process of its preparation and makes recommendations with respect thereto to the City Manager and to the City Council, and assists in the planning of a recreation program for the citizens of Merced. The Commission consists of seven members who serve four-year terms of office. Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. This position requires the filing of a Statement of Economic Interests under the California Fair Political Practices Act guidelines.
