General
The City of Merced recognizes the importance of ensuring our websites are accessible to those with disabilities. We state our commitment to this in the document Notice Under The Americans With Disabilities Act. We are committed to making our information accessible to visitors with disabilities and are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines.
This website endeavors to conform to Level “AA” of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0.
These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible and the City is working to educate our staff so that the content they may post on their department websites will be compliant with the guidelines and be accessible to all visitors.
This site has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for HTML and CSS. The site displays correctly in current browsers and using standards compliant HTML/CSS code means any future browsers will also display it correctly.
The City of Merced strives to ensure that its services are accessible to people with disabilities. The City has invested a significant amount of resources to help ensure that its website is made easier to use and more accessible for people with disabilities, with the strong belief that every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort and independence.
Areas for improvement
The City of Merced continues its efforts to constantly improve the accessibility of this site and services in the belief that it is our collective moral obligation to allow seamless, accessible and unhindered use also for those of us with disabilities.
Despite our efforts to make all pages and content on www.cityofmerced.org fully accessible, some content may not have yet been fully adapted to the strictest accessibility standards.
