For those retirees in retirement status before the date indicated in their respective Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the City agrees to contribute the amount necessary to provide a comparable hospital/medical plan for each eligible retiree.

For those active unit members who retire after the date indicated in their respective MOU, the City agrees to contribute the monthly premium for each eligible retiree capped at a specific amount for retirees over and under age 65. The retiree shall pay any amount over the capped premium.

An eligible employee who retires after August 1, 1998 shall be eligible to continue coverage under the City’s group dental and vision plans. The premium shall be the responsibility of the retiree. At age 65, or upon dropping coverage, or death of the retiree, the City’s group dental and vision plans will no longer be available to the retiree and his/her eligible spouse and/or dependents.
