Listos California helps individuals, families and communities prepare for disasters like floods, heat waves, power outages, pandemics, and earthquakes. When we all do our part, we keep more people safe.

 

Through challenges than span geography, age, diversity, language and the availability of cell phone coverage and broadband, the Merced Fire Department CERT and Listos provides services to ALL populations. The Merced Fire Department CERT and Listos is committed to building on its foundational commitment to serve equitably, inclusively, and to a diverse population through broad community outreach. To do so, we are expanding training for community emergency response volunteers and for residents and neighbors to better able to be their own first help until first responders can arrive.

 

CERT and Listos are free training offered to the community. CERT and Listos training are currently offered in Spanish and English. If your organization is interested in having a CERT or Listos training, please contact us at 209-385-6891 and find when we can meet you where you are at and provide important emergency preparedness skills through fun and non-threatening methods tailored for you. We love to do things like: Senior Emergency Preparedness Bingo at the Senior Center; Disaster Puzzles/Memory Games for Brownie Troops, Boy Scouts; Learn to use a fire extinguisher and turn off the gas to your house; CPR, etc. We will train people with access and functional needs and give them special tips as to how to modify their responses to drop, cover and hold on during an earthquake.
