How We're Preparing

The City of Merced is preparing for the upcoming storm. You may be seeing city Public Works Crews:

  • Performing leaf cleanup
  • Cleaning storm drain systems
  • Clearing basins
  • Servicing pumps

The city receives daily updates from CAL OES and the National Weather Service.  Additionally, the city coordinates with other local agencies on creek levels and other local conditions.  Based on this information, the city plans accordingly.

What Can You Do?

Please keep in mind that the city’s roadway system is part of the storm drain system. There may potentially be standing water and backups as water moves through this system. Residents can help by keeping gutters and culverts in their neighborhoods free of debris and reporting non-emergency issues like fallen tree limbs or blocked streets to City Dispatch at (209) 385-6905 or through the Merced Connect App. For real time Evacuation warnings and information, visit the Perimeter App provided by the County of Merced.
